'Yellow Submarine' is a visually mind popping stunner and  well-scripted movie. There are lots of Beatles "in" jokes, George's fascination with Indian music and John's fascination with scientific theories are lampooned, the Beatles' power is joked about ("Nothing's Beatle Proof!") and Ringo is the steady, sympathetic "everyman". The movie itself is arguably the most psychedelic ever made. The Beatles' descent into Pepperland is just one psychedelic scene after the other. The animation is cutting edge because it is so strange and fun that it becomes absolutely irresistible. The colors, landscapes, and creatures are just what animation should be. The songs are fit in very, very well ("Nowhere Man" segment and Lucy in the Sky segment are mind blowing to this day!!!). Overall this works great as a musical or as an animated film, and there's definitely a lot of priceless, subtle dialog. I would name it one of the top 20 animated films of all time, really. There simply isn't any movie like it.

On 2 X 2000ft metal reels... No cut scenes, no noticeable splices.
There is no vinegar smell, since all my prints were kept in optimum conditions. I have shown this print with a Xenon Eiki Projector and to me and my audience, it mostly looked like a low fade print since the powerful bright Xenon throws a slightly blue cast.
Just beautiful! However the pictures for this auction were from projecting the film through a normal Bell and Howell Projector!  As you can see by the pictures that were taken for this auction, the film still has great color and in NEAR MINT CONDITION. The only wear I saw was in the first 20 or so seconds of the second reel but clears up perfectly. And if you do have a Xenon projector prepare to stare at this wide eyed! If you don't.... you will still thoroughly be impressed!
