This is a 16 mm, B&W, sound, film from Movie Newsreels Hollywood called Paulena Carter at the Piano  (1949) - It runs about 9 minutes, has complete titles, has some lines/wear, NO splices ,and no vinegar.
A cool, rare look at an Amazing Woman Pianist....
San Francisco born pianist and composer Paulena Carter was something of a child prodigy - she started her career as pianist at the tender age of seven, and performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at age thirteen in 1943. Presented here is a rare recording from the 1949 in which Ms. Carter displays her formidable skills with both Chopin and Liszt.
Apparently she even tutored actress Joan Fontaine in 1950 for a movie roll....
This reel consists of 3 different musical numbers - Just Paulena Carter at her Piano  in a darkened room (see pix) - playing her heart out.
