16mm Film Tough Love (1981) Rare Religious Prison Film (Lutheran TV Production)

Up for auction is a 16mm Print of a religious prison film titled TOUGH LOVE (1981) starring Richard Dimitri, Lawrence Hilton Jacobs, A. Martinez, Arthur Roberts, & Mark Thomas
The film concerns two in-mates, Flagg Washington and Jimmy Strickland, who are serving seven-year sentences at the state penitentiary. Strickland is a hothead, while Washington is a religious man whom Strickland thinks is pulling a con. The two wind up in the same cell. This film was released by Outreach Films of West-lake Village, California who were distributors of films for churches and youth organizations.
Film features some political incorrectness, for example at one point Jimmy tells Flagg (his African American cellmate) to
"keep his big black mouth shut"
and taunts
"what are you gonna do about it black boy?"
. Another inmate repeatedly refers to Mexicans as "wetbacks".
Print is in great shape with occasional hairlines. Didn't notice any splices. The color like so many prints of this vintage, has turned. Keep in mind you can still pull the color back out if your intention is to do a color-corrected film scan. No Vinegar Smell. Comes mounted on a 1200ft reel.
There appears to be no copyright registration for this film.
