******Neat vintage 16mm movie. ***THRIFT SHOP FIND******I AM NOT AN EXPERT ON THIS****It is a 16mm Kodak Safety color film, no sound, about 550 ft. A informative or promotional film made about "Aeroquip Corp Fitting Manufacture KC" in 1957. This is a "work print" as noted on the White header film piece in pen. They made hose fittings back in the day including many during WW2. This is Kodak 16mm film with a "square" symbol on the film edge, which dates the film stock to 1957. Content is wonderful, some rare footage here! Shows employees in all various stages of constructing the hose fittings and clamps, etc. Some heavy duty equipment there! Has 3 guys in an office at the end, classic retro suits and decor! You can see in the film on a couple pieces of paper the date 1957. A unique rare look back into the history of this company. This is reel #3 (I don't have any other reels). My buddy played it through a projector, it went through ok. On a fairly heavy 10-1/2" Compco reel, about 550 ft. of film. Good condition, nice color, it played all the way through a projector but it was a little "jumpy" in places, not sure if the projector or the film causing that, light wear, no vinegar smell, a few splices, sold "as-is".***CHECK OUT MY OTHER 16mm FILM AUCTIONS******Buyer pays shipping. HERE IS SOME INFO ON THE AEROQUIP CORPORATION HISTORY>>>
Aeroquip Corporation was founded in 1940 in Jackson, Michigan, by Peter F Hurst, a young German aeronautical engineer who held the patent rights to manufacture two new products designed for the aviation industry-detachable,reusable hose fittings and self-sealing couplings.
During World War 2, Aeroquip products became military standards on all U.S.Aircraft, establishing the company's reputation as a quality supplier and leading the way to penetration of the emerging fluid power industry. Aeroquip products included all pressure ranges of hose, fittings, adapters, couplings and other fluid connectors. Although now owned by another company, they are still in business today.
