Using Chord Buddy's patterned teaching system you will learn your right hand rhythm patterns first, while using the chord making tabs to make the chords for you. Once you have learned to strum, it is time to learn the chords. You remove the chord making tabs one at the time and learn the play the chords yourself. In about two months you are playing the guitar on your own!
The Chord Buddy works on all standard dreadnaught, full-size, 3/4 and 5/8-sized acoustic and electric guitars with average to low string height and a neck width of no less than 1 1/2" and no more than 1 7/8".
NOTE
: Chord buddy
will not work
on left-handed, classical, 12-string guitars and 1/2 size guitars.
Will this version of the ChordBuddy fit my guitar?
This is the right-handed version. Measure across the neck at the nut (the white bar between the frets and the tuning pegs), it should be around 1 3/4″ (1 ½” minimum and 1 7/8” maximum) and from the nut to the 3rd fret should be approximately 4″ChordBuddy works with both left and right handed guitars but this version if for right handed only! If you have a classical guitar (any guitar with a neck width of more than 1 7/8″) you’ll need to search for the “Classical” version. The “right” and “left” handed ChordBuddy will work with full size, 3/4 size and 5/8 size guitars
Don’t know if you need left or right? If you strum with your right hand and the biggest string is on the top; it is a right handed guitar. If you strum with your left hand and the biggest string is on the top; it is a left handed guitar.
This version of the ChordBuddy will not work on half-sized (or any guitar with a neck width of less than 1 1/2″) (children’s) guitars. You can check for sure by making two measurements. Measure across the neck at the nut, it should be around 1 3/4″ (1 ½” minimum and 1 7/8” maximum) and from the nut to the 3rd fret should be approximately 4″. If these two measurements are as noted, the ChordBuddy should work just fine. If the neck of the guitar is too wide, it is probably a classical guitar, and you would order the “classical” ChordBuddy. We do not have a ChordBuddy for a left handed classical guitar. Classicals normally have a mixture of nylon and steel strings. ChordBuddy will only work on a six string guitar.
