    What's on this DVD;
    American Civil War -
    City-Class Ironclads "The Turtles"
    This DVD is about a collection of old Films on the Civil War on Ironclads.
    Starting with a film called "The War of the Turtles".
    Both the North and the South realized that the control of the Mississippi river would determine the War, thus both sides developed an armor "Shell" like a turtle built over River Boats.
    This DVD is overall about that.
    We hope that you'll thoroughly enjoy the collection, we certainly did.
    Great piece of Navy History!
    1st Film;
    "The War of the Turtles".
    This is an old film done is a kind of "Ken Burns style" using old photos of the time.
    Very well done with a great historical story line.
    I had no idea of the battles and struggles that went on the Mississippi river.
    We hope you'll enjoy the extra footage.
    Runtime 24:47 Min's
    2nd Film;
    "Ericsson's Fight for the USS Monitor".
    This film is about the struggle the genius John Ericsson had to go through to convince the War Dept. to allow him to build the Monitor.
    The Confederates were putting there finishing touches on the famous Ironclad "Merrimack" (CSS Virginia) and the North had nothing to stop her from destroying the blockade.
    If the Merrimack was not stopped, then the blockade would have been finished and the South would have been recognized by the European powers and we would have been two nations for sure. But along came the USS monitor, build in 100 days to save the nation. Runtime 17:45 Min's
    3rd Film; "The Farragut Story". This is a great old Navy film on the Famous Admiral David Farragut.
    From is youth, to the battle of New Orleans and the famous battle of Mobile Bay, where he said "Damn the Torpedoes, Full Steam Ahead". Runtime, 26:46 Min's
    4th Film; "The Story of the Civil War".
    Here is a film that explains the Civil War conflict .
    Runtime 15:05 Min's
    Product No. CFDVD0044-D2
