    Description

    You are bidding on
    an original, hardcover copy of
NEXT TIME DRIVE OFF THE CLIFF – The exciting story of “The King of the Serial Makers” Nat Levine, and his little Mascot Pictures Studio
    by Gene Fernett.
Published in 1968, this book was one of the first to look at the sound and silent serials made by “poverty row” studio Mascot Pictures.
Its chapters include “The King of the Serial Makers Take His Throne,” “Mascot Stars and Stuntmen,” “Of Stunts and Schedules,” “John Wayne Enters,” “Hollywood Then and Now,” “Tom Mix Rides In,” and “A Tiger Perishes.”
Its seven appendices provide additional information on Mascot’s silent and sound serials, Mascot’s feature pictures, synopses of representative serials and features, and production credits for representative serials and features. 203 pages, well-illustrated with black and white images of posters, lobby cards, production stills, etc.
This copy comes from a non-smoking household.
The binding is good, and the pages are clean and unmarked. The dust jacket is worn and has been repaired with Scotch matte finish Magic Tape.
All in all, this is a clean, tight copy of a very desirable title that is eagerly sought after by old movie and serial fans.
This copy is being sold “as is” and has been priced to sell with a low opening bid.
It will be shipped via USPS Media Mail with tracking.
If you collect books about early Hollywood, particularly about its “poverty row” studios, then this book should be in your collection.
Don’t let it get away because someone outbid you at the last minute.
Our feedback rating speaks for itself, so bid with confidence. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
