The Alessi Nuvem Wire Basket is made of anodized aluminum wire that has been tangled, flattened, then molded into shape. Nuvem translates to cloud in Portuguese, referencing the airy skein of wire that has a certain lightness and consistency that is a mark of the Campana brothers work. The production technology used is sophisticated as it had to be capable of the preserving the craftsman-like attributes while at the same time able to be mass produced.
