Description
This is a Blackhawk Films movie in the Super 8 Silent format on one-200' reel. I do NOT detect any vinegar smell on this reel of film and it seem to be in like new condition.Kismet (1920) is an American silent film version of the 1911 play Kismet by Edward Knoblock, starring Otis Skinner and Elinor Fair, and directed by Louis J. Gasnier. Skinner's daughter, author Cornelia Otis Skinner, played a small role. This version was released by Robertson-Cole Distributing Company. In New England, the distribution of the film was handled by Joseph P. Kennedy who organized a successful premiere in Boston.
Blackhawk Films' version of this famous 1920 feature is not so much the story, but a study of
Otis Skinner against the background of this lavish production which, in 1920, cost 0,000 to produce, a tremendous budget for the time.
Otis Skinner's Kismet was a show business phenomenon. He played the stage version in 1911, the silent version in 1920, and was to play the first talkie version in 1930.
